EDUCATION

Conference Speakers will serve as faculty for AAWC Summit(s), invited wound care tracks or related program(s). All disciplines welcome to apply. There is a particular need for physical therapists and nurses/advanced practice nurses. Proven wound care management expertise required. Previous speaking experience preferred, with demonstrated excellence as evidenced through program results and audience feedback desired. Members with limited experience are also encouraged to apply. AAWC expert speakers will be available for coaching and feedback.

  • Time commitment: As required to develop and deliver specific presentation. Travel to program venue required. AAWC will cover transportation and lodging per the AAWC travel policy.
  • Eligibility requirements: All members are eligible. Applicants should describe previous speaking experience in the application and include areas of specific wound care expertise.

Conference Planners will assist in the planning and development of AAWC’s Summits or Wound Care Tracks. Planners will be appointed to one or more multidisciplinary planning task force(s). Proven wound care management expertise required. Previous experience designing or planning a conference is preferred (not required). Proven written and communication skills a must. Planners may also be called to serve as speakers dependent on their particular wound care expertise and speaking skills / experience.

  • Time commitment:  Participation in planning conference calls as indicated on the program planning timeline, typically every other week, 1 hour in length. Travel to program venue required. AAWC will cover transportation and lodging per the AAWC travel policy.
  • Eligibility requirements: All members are eligible. Applicants should describe previous conference planning experience (if applicable). Include areas of specific wound care expertise. Also indicate interest in leading a planning committee or serving as a subject matter expert.

Facilitators / Moderators will facilitate or moderate an AAWC educational program e.g., Journal Club webinar, live AAWC session at a Summit, wound care track or related program. Demonstrated speaking skills and comfort with facilitating logistics of a live program a must. Facilitator / moderators may be assigned to a program planning committee or appointed to individual programs as needed.

  • Time commitment: Some training and program run-through prior to the scheduled event, and the duration of the scheduled event which is typically one hour. If assigned to a committee, participation on planning calls only as needed to understand the overall program and role/expectations of the moderator / facilitator. Travel to program venue required. AAWC will cover transportation and lodging per the AAWC travel policy.
  • Eligibility requirements: All members are eligible. Demonstrated comfort serving as a webinar facilitator and general use of webinar platforms and/or a live educational program moderator desired.

Program Reviewers are content experts responsible for reviewing AAWC education programs for gaps or learning opportunities specific to a particular practice discipline – physician, nurse, advance nurse practitioner, physical therapist, occupational therapist, nutritionist, pharmacist. Proven wound care management expertise required.

  • Time commitment: As needed to review the agenda with objectives for a 2-day program and provide written feedback to the planning committee.
  • Eligibility requirements:  Proven expertise in a particular area or areas of wound care as  demonstrated through training, practice experience and research where  applicable.
