Board Election - Call for Nominations

AAWC is an association that elects our board of directors from among interested members. Any member can throw their hat into the ring, so this is YOUR opportunity to get more involved, impact the future direction of our amazingly awesome association, make new connections with leaders in the wound-care space, and develop your own leadership skills!

Nominations for the 2022 AAWC Board election are open through midnight Friday, September 30, 2022.

Open positions:

  • Treasurer
  • Consumer Representative Member
  • Member at Large
  • Nurse Board Member 
  • Physical Therapist (PT) Board Member
  • Physician Board Member

 Eligibility requirements:

  • Only active, dues-paying members shall be eligible for office.
  • Candidates for Executive Committee positions (Secretary, Treasurer, and President-Elect) must be current or past board members who have completed an elected term of office (2 years).
  • Candidates for Director positions must have been members for a minimum of one year prior to serving on the board (joined on or before January 1, 2022).
  • Experience serving on an AAWC committee or task force is strongly recommended but not required.

Board members will serve two-year terms, beginning January 1, 2023.


The AAWC Nomination Guide includes the duties and responsibilities of the Board of Directors, additional responsibilities of the Executive Committee (Officers), as well as the AAWC mission, vision, core values, and strategic plan.

Nominee application due on or before Friday, September 30.

  • Curriculum Vitae or resume
  • Short biographical sketch
  • Professional head shot 
  • Completed nominee application


At the conclusion of the nominations period (midnight September 30) the Nominating and Board Development Committee will develop the slate of candidates based on the approved criteria and needs of the Board and the Association. All applications will be reviewed by our Nominating Committee and each applicant will be personally contacted to discuss their qualifications. Please be advised that submission of an application does not guarantee inclusion on the election ballot.
